Seek True Love

​​When I watched this Thai short film entitled “Seek True Love”, I fell in love with the honest characters and was touched by the heartwarming story. This story started when Porche, a boy from Thailand who was seeking for help from his relatives, met Lily, a half Thai - Chinese girl who wanted to be a tour guide. Lily let him stay in her house for five days and as an exchange, he must teach her Thai language so that she could be a tour guide someday. Later on, as their worlds intertwined, making new experiences, she was already falling in love with him, not knowing the fact that Porche was still longing for his past love. But in some instances, he also showed some affection for her. As they searched for the relatives of Porche, he was able to meet the love of his life but at the same time, he was also able to discover that he was already too late. The girl of his dreams has already her own lover. His heart was crushed into pieces but the heart of Lily brittled even more. Then he remembered the happy moments he had with Lily, from the day they first met, to the moment they were about to kiss. He then realized that he was just always been bound to the pain of the past, not knowing that his true love was already standing by his side. And it was Lily. This masterpiece taught me significant lessons about love that are worthy to be kept throughout my life.

For me, this short film was produced successfully when it comes to the acting of the characters, screenplay, story, sound effects, and cinematography. The visuals was greatly dissolved with the sound. Furthermore, the cinematography helped to create the mood of the film as well as the performance of the actors. On the other side, the plot was a little bit cliche but it has still a great impact on its audience. I recommend also that the cinematography should be improved so that it will perfectly create the appropriate ambiance of the film and to have an award - winning quality.

The film tells us that in order to find true love, we must first accept our mistakes and all of the pain that punctured us. We must appreciate the things around us and all the people who wants to be with us. We also have to embrace the past and let it change us and everything. By doing these, we will be able to learn how to identify what true love is and start to open again our closed doors and demolish the wall that we built in front of us. True love is acceptance , appreciation and forgiveness. It is forgiveness, in a way that, we will discover it when we are in our toughest times and we are able to forgive the person we love the most.
